Measuring instructions

Measuring instructions for custom made fitted doormats

Measure the area where you want to place the made-to-measure doormat. Measure the length and width at several points, as the space may not be completely straight. Write down the measurements. Give us the largest measurement.

  1. If you have corners, always measure the widest width and the longest length. You can trim the corners to size later.
  2. Round the measurements up to the nearest whole centimeter.
  3. The prints are always horizontal unless otherwise specified.

It’s important to check whether the mat will be recessed INTO the floor or placed ON the floor.

The mat will be recessed INTO my floor

When placing the mat in a recess, it’s important that the mat fits perfectly.

Since all custom products have a small production margin in their dimensions, WE increase the size of the mat by 2 cm to ensure it’s never too small. This gives you enough room to trim the mat to the exact size you need.

  • Order the size you require.
  • We’ll add 2 cm, so you can easily cut the mat to size at home.
  • Corners can also be easily trimmed from the mat if needed.

The mat will be placed ON TOP OF my floor

When the mat will be placed ON TOP OF the floor, an exact fit is less crucial.

Every custom product has a small production margin of 3%, but this is negligible, only a few millimeters. When the mat is placed on top of the floor, this won’t be noticeable.

  • Order the size you need.
  • Corners can also be easily trimmed from the mat if necessary.
  • Prefer a black vinyl edge for a finished look? No problem, just mention it in the comments section at checkout.

Cutting your doormat to size

Your doormat has been delivered and now you want to enjoy it as soon as possible. You have ordered the mat to size, yet it is to cut the mat to size. With these instructions, this is no problem for any handyman or handywoman.
  1. Double-check the area where the custom doormat will be placed. Measure both the length and width at several points, as the space may not be perfectly straight.

  2. Write down the measurements, including the sizes of the corners! It’s also helpful to make a quick sketch, so you know exactly which measurement corresponds to each section.

  3. Use a sharp utility knife or scissors. Work one corner at a time, and after each cut, check to ensure you’re still on track. Take your time to avoid mistakes.

  4. Shake off any loose fibers from the mat, and then place it in position.
