Why do we ask if the exact size is important?
Every custom product has a small production margin in its dimensions. Because of this, the mat is not always exact size.
This is due to shrinkage that occurs during production. If the mat is placed ON the floor without being laid tightly against the wall, for example, then it is no problem if the mat shrinks slightly during production. However, if the mat is placed in a recess, it should not be too small.
The mat will be recessed IN my floor
When the mat is placed in a recess, it is obviously important that the mat fits exactly.
Every custom product has a small production margin in its dimensions. As a result, the mat is not always exactly the right size. This is due to shrinkage that occurs during production. To prevent the mat from being too small, we enlarge the mat slightly to make room for the shrinkage. So you will receive the mat slightly larger than the size you passed on. This gives you a few mm margin to cut the mat to size yourself.
- Order the size you need. (If in doubt, order one cm larger!)
- The mat is not made to the mm. This one is just a little wider, you can easily cut the mat to size at home.
- Corners can also be easily cut out of the mat.
I place the mat ON TOP off my floor
When the mat is placed ON the floor, it is less important that the mat fits exactly.
Every custom product has a small shrinkage margin. However, this is negligible in a few mm. When the mat is placed ON the floor you will not see this.
- Order the size you need.
- Corners or angled walls can also be easily cut out of the mat.
